Impact on Education (IMPACTed) Project

What is the world that students and teachers face today?

To participate effectively in the increasingly complex societies and globalized economy that characterize today’s world, students and teachers need to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate with diverse peers, solve complex problems, adopt a global mindset, and engage with information and communications technologies, to name but just a few requirements.

Traditional education systems have generally not been preparing learners to face such challenges, the global education community has increasingly talked about and mobilized in favor of the changes required.

There may be a challenge associated with how countries (and the broader education community) perceive 21st century skills in general. In contexts of limited resources, crowded curricula, inadequately trained teachers, fragility, weak governance, and other challenges.

We need to transform the education system

This suggests that those who are committed to a holistic view of education have much work to do in terms of research, sharing of experience, capacity building, and advocacy around the potential and need for all countries. School ecosystem needs to elevate their skills so that they can prepare the students for the challenges ahead.

What are we doing?

NAMA Foundation Malaysia and Game Changer Training and Consulting Ltd,  implementing IMPACTEd Project Bangladesh, a project to improve the quality of educational institutes, education leaders and teachers through training and capacity building. We will deliver tried and tested training and coaching programs like ROOTS and EDULead based on FIRST framework that have been delivered by NAMA Foundation in a number of countries.

FIRST is a comprehensive scientific-based framework that promotes Active Deep Learner eXperience and inspires a positive transformation in mindset and behaviour. FIRST Framework summarizes 15 principles of learner eXperience categorized under 5 domains namely focusing on the Learner, Interacting within Positive Group Dynamics, Reviewing Activities Within, Sequencing Activities, and Transforming Learning into Performance.

ROOTS ToT

As part of the IMPACTed project there will be a four-day-long Training of Trainers (ToT) event in Dhaka from 25th to 28th December 2022. The ToT will be delivered by two international trainers. ROOTS is short for Roadmap of Outstanding Educators which aim to improve educators’ competencies in areas that are relevant especially in the 21st Century Education. The ROOTS Consultants will be equipped with Facilitation and Gamification, as well as Coaching and Mentoring skills. All these skills combined enabled them to transfer the knowledge to other educators based on FIRSTEdu Framework and Learner Experience Coaching for Students (LXCstudents). You can download the program details below.
